After graduating from Istanbul University with a degree in Business Administration, he pursued a Master's in Marketing and Business at Yedi Tepe University. Having received English drama training in Los Angeles (L.A), the actor performed at Tiyatro Istanbul, Sadri Alışık, and Talimhane Theatres. In 2018, he tied the knot with Nazlı Kurbanzade, and they have two children. In addition to acting, Ali Sunal is also a presenter and a film artist, currently appearing on the Güldür Güldür Show, which is broadcast on Show TV. He also hosts the Ali ile Aramızda program, which airs on Bloomberg HT channel.
