He started his career in journalism as a sports reporter at Cumhuriyet newspaper. In 1993, he founded the private radio Best FM. In 1995, he started working at Show TV and Show Radio. He presented the main news bulletin on the same channel and started the Teke Tek program that made him famous. In 1996, he moved to the Doğan Group and became a columnist for Hürriyet newspaper, as well as the general coordinator of Radyo D. In 2002, he was appointed editor-in-chief of Kanal D News. From there, he moved to Sabah newspaper, where his position as editor-in-chief ended in 2007 when the TMSF administration seized Sabah newspaper. In 2009, he worked as the editor-in-chief of Habertürk newspaper, founded by his former boss Turgay Ciner, until the end of 2013.
