While studying at Bilkent University in the Business Department, she transferred to Cornell University's Johnson Graduate School of Management in Ithaca, New York, and completed her education there. She received training in International Petroleum Trading and Pricing at Oxford and Cambridge. She began her career at Koçbank and continued in the Planning and Pricing department at OPET in 1997. Afterward, she held various positions at OPET, including Assistant Finance Manager, Retail Sales Planning Manager, and Supply Manager. She later served as the Chain Stores Director, Supply and Technical Vice General Manager. Filiz Öztürk, who led OPET's "Women Power" project aimed at increasing female employment, implemented in 2018, currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors. She also holds the position of Vice President at KalDer (Turkish Quality Association).
