Biography

He was born in Kilis in 1975 and studied Economics at Uludağ University. Over a period of 5 years, he meticulously documented the various dishes found in the districts and villages of Bursa.

Within a span of 6 months, he organized these recipes and compiled them into a book titled "Bursa Cuisine." This groundbreaking cookbook delved into Bursa's 500-year-old culinary culture, making it the first of its kind. Published in March 2009, the book features 140 recipes, many of which were revealed to the world of culinary literature for the first time. Its exceptional quality was recognized when it won the prestigious Gourmand World Cookbook Awards in 2009, claiming the title of the best book in the "Local Cuisine" category.

Muhammed Ömür Akkor, a participant in the renowned Gourmand Cookbook Awards, often referred to as the 'Nobel Prize for Cookbooks,' was honored with the coveted title of 'World's Best Kitchen History Book' for his exceptional work, "Seljuk Cuisine."
